Michael and Bethany met while playing an online game of Dungeons and Dragons. During the pandemic, Bethany was looking for an activity to occupy her time. There, she met her Maid of Honor and now close friend, Kayla. After a few years, Kayla started her own game of Dungeons and Dragons where she extended the invitation to Bethany, a few close friends and others from the Clemson Tiger Band. Michael had met Kayla during his time in Tiger Band and was invited to join the game, which he accepted not knowing that it would change his life.

From there, the two became close as friends for a year as the Dungeons and Dragons game was played. They talked about their love of music, games, foods and of course, DnD. During this time all of this, Bethany's and Michael's characters that they were playing as in the game fell in love, but really, those feelings stemmed from Bethany and Michael's own growing connection. After a long while, Bethany finally confessed her feelings to Michael, and they became a couple, working together to overcome the challenges of their long-distance relationship.

Bethany still lived in Ohio, finishing her Bachelor's in Graphic Design while Michael lived in South Carolina, working as a Band Director in Beaufort. The first year of their story was filled with long-distance dates over video chat consisting of dinners, movies, games, and excited discussions of the future. During this time, they both would fly to visit each other and meet their families getting to know each other and their loved ones.

Eventually, Bethany finished her college years and moved to South Carolina to be with Michael. Together, their relationship grew as did their love. Michael proposed a year later at a Dungeons and Dragons retreat with the original group of friends that played in the game where they met.

The stars aligned perfectly for Bethany and Michael to meet and form this wonderful relationship, and they couldn't be happier for how it has all come together.
